As a third choice, Groenier proposes producing a cohesive feel in a mixed‐materials kitchen by picking "a super powerful color that pulls everything together." In this kitchen, by Excel inside Concepts as well as building in Lemoyne with Pennsylvania teal works to give an intentional, designed feel to pale wood floors also white cabinets in‐conjunction with black countertops.
Designer tip: In deciding whether to pick a bold color or a neutral, Groenier advocates that you consider how much wall area there is to paint. "If you had a large wall almost like a blank canvas in–conjunction with you wanted to accent that wall, that shall make sense," she says. "If you had a thin little strip like between a doorway together with a cabinet, that would be disconnected — it might not make any visual sense."
No need for a rich neutral wall paint to tie them all together; instead, the choice (note the wall paint above the cabinets) fades into the setting, allowing the finishes to be the main attraction.
