This Silver Leaf insides project — an off‐white kitchen with midtone wood floors as well as a beige, brick‐like backsplash — is a good example of Groenier's first strategy: letting the finishes balance one another.
"One is to stay pretty neutral also let the selected finishes do their thing — pop with balance each other," she says. "Another option is to go with a deep rich neutral maybe a navy," she says.
On the opposing side of the same kitchen, the creator chose a wall hue that is fairly close to the cabinet color, creating a monochrome effect. Miller normally advises choosing a wall hue that would make the cabinets stand elsewhere, though this is of course a matter of direct taste.
