As a third choice, Groenier proposes producing a cohesive feel in a mixed‐materials kitchen by picking "a super powerful color that pulls everything together." In this kitchen, by Excel inside Concepts as well as building in Lemoyne with Pennsylvania teal works to give an intentional, designed feel to pale wood floors also white cabinets in‐conjunction with black countertops.

The white circumference cabinets with a black countertop with the black kitchen island with a white countertop are set off plus pulled together by the rich impartial gray of the feature wall.
This Silver Leaf insides project — an off‐white kitchen with midtone wood floors as well as a beige, brick‐like backsplash — is a good example of Groenier's first strategy: letting the finishes balance one another.
